The Road (Regrettably) Taken

With abject apologies to Robert Frost

I dreamed I took a road I seldom take.
To the right I drifted, far off course.
And when I discovered my mistake
I madly tried to hit the brake,
(But sadly, I was on a horse.)

I felt a creeping sense of fear
As I slowly realized my plight.
My little horse sure thought it queer,
But queer folk weren't welcome here,
And almost everyone was white.

The One Percent lived high on hills,
And in that clean and pleasant air
Lit cigars with hundred dollar bills,
And instead of solving social ills,
Complained about Obamacare.

When I awoke, I realized the truth:
Whichever road you take you should endeavor,
Whether you're in Dallas or Duluth,
When you find you're in a voting booth,
Make sure to always pull the proper lever.

THE SPORT OF REALTY

Promises, promises
Net vast millions
For the construction
Of private pavilions.

Penalties paid?
Haven't you heard--
Real estate deals
In the realm of the absurd.

No room is messier than mine
I anticipate something fine,
As yet it's elusive
And hardly conclusive
I hope it won't be unbenign.

Paul Ryan, good people? I gasp,
The basis for "good" I don't grasp,
Racist to the core
And an Ayn Rand bore,
Whose budgets sting Poor like a Wasp.

it can be habit and not choice
there's need to hear another voice
perspective multiplied
a mirror at your side
demonstrably it's fun, rejoice.

the double standard features here
for gals we're quite inclined to cheer
the comfort level drops
we know a man that swaps
some distance please, just not too near.

Such was life in the Golden Gate
Gold dusted all we drank and ate.

In my opinion USA is completely forgotten about Ukraine.

It is clear and understandable
that the events in Ukraine, which were provoked by USA
and that caused the Russia's response and it was needed
namely for the United States.
And what about Ukraine? What about democracy and freedom there?

Or the United States has already moved on to Russia and push all possible
ways?
HYPOCRISY - that is the keyword of US foreign policy.
This is what it based.
Real democracy is far from "American principles of democracy".

I am thinking - is there any shame and conscience of the American government and U.S. authorities?

Flip a coin until it lands on heads.
Look at the date on the coin.
Divide the date by 3.
If the remainder is 0, you win.
Otherwise, you lose.

I'll try to repeat my attempt at a tribute to Larry (and by this post, you, David)
A Times poet Larry
Never did tarry
To add a new line
That did just fine
As riposte of parry.

in my youth, i was in my air force "dress white" waist coat,
at a country club wedding reception. someone
asked me to please get them a glass of wine.
my uniform looked just like the waiters.
i said "no" and we both had a good laugh.

This is for nought...
The U.S.government and the U.S. president
do not understand the true situation in Crimea.
Furthermore, what has been done there -
This is not the annexation, this is reunion
Crimea with Russia.
Reading Russian press on the internet I have
see that there are laughing under USA.

USA is driving themselves at the deadlock, rejecting
cooperation with Russia, this is bad and no way from this
situation.

Russian Federation is not Iran ...

So many march to the Beat of someone else's Drummer,
Then wonder why so much of Life is such a Bummer.

Economist Michal Kalecki stressed that full employment would always be resisted by
the wealthy because of its upward pressure on wages and consequent
squeeze on profits. According to Malcom Sawyer, "Kalecki had established
the lack of effective demand as the major cause of low economic
activity and unemployment in the early 1930s, and it can be said that he
did so about three years prior to Keynes." But Kalecki clearly believed
that the obstacles to full employment under capitalism were
significantly political; resistance from capitalists. Kalecki observed
that full employment also raises the political and economic power of the
working class which would prompt capitalists to attempt to constrain
this power by bringing full employment to an abrupt end.

There is the ignorant notion that the threat of Reagan
launching Star Wars and shooting down Russian
missiles with space based lasers, brought down the
Berlin Wall. Untrue. It is an old and wise adage that
an army travels on its stomach. Russia's achilles heel
is that it simply cannot feed its people, not with all the
oil under the steppes.

Six months after a wheat embargo, John Kerry stands
at the Ukraine Russia border and opens a loaf of bread
in front of the entire Russ army, dips it in gravy and feeds
it to a pack of those dogs rescued in Sochi.

When the bread stores are once again empty in Moscow,
VI Putin will crawl to the table. When the bread stores are
empty in Sevastopol, Crimea will beg to rejoin Ukraine.
